Art & Healing Sessions: “Pray, Paint and Praise” w/Rev. Dionne Nicole

Sessions in this series are rooted in and structured around theological practices of “Spiritual Direction and Holy Listening” (intentionally yielding to the Spirit to guide, comfort and heal during times of trouble). Each workshop opens with a guided and engaging communal prayer and meditation. Participants are then taken through a step by step process of painting a specific image provided by the Artist, who provides technical guidance and provides guiding questions that allow participants to engage in “Sacred/Holy Listening” around their individual experiences and concerns. The workshop concludes with a discussion around participant’s individual experiences and celebratory praise to honor the God of our creation, our ancestors and our healing.
