Oakland’s City Council has initiated a task force to “Reimagine Public Safety” with a goal of 50% of Oakland Police Department’s general purpose budget shifted to alternatives to armed officer response and other non-OPD public safety initiatives. This planning to re-allocate half the OPD budget is going to have a major impact on our communities. Make sure your voice is heard!
