The Imani Community Church believes that faith requires action. We can all do our part by informing ourselves on local and state ballot initiatives and how they stand to impact us and our neighbors. We are delighted to have presenter Dr. Anna Mathai, vice president and co-chair of Voter Services at The League of Women Voters of Oakland, Originally from Mumbai, India, Dr. Mathai has been engaging the Oakland community regarding issues encompassing voter rights and information since 2013.
As of 2020 said engagement includes video presentations like the one you are about to enjoy. The presentation includes overviews of state and local ballot measures (cost, effect, who supports and opposes, where the money comes from, etc.), as well as a Q&A with Imani Associate Pastor, Rev. Robert Newells-Newton.
